Some questions about colonoscopy

I'm 19 and I've never had one before. I just have some questions. When it's all done, are you pretty sore? I've never had something up there, so I'm not sure what to expect. How bad is the liquid you have to drink the day before? My doctor will find out whats wrong while performing the colonoscopy, so when I wake up will he tell me right away what it is?

my wife is going for this in the morning....she said the stuff tasted like sh*t, she couldnt eat all day...the meds were hard on her stomach and she was a pain in the *ss to be around today, the stuff literally makes everything run out of you, youre kinda home ridden for the day.  

shes going in for like 90 min tomorrow, for the 'surgery' part...

if you possibly have problems, and they see them while doing your colonscopy, they will sometimes try to fix what the problem is, thats what my wife was told...

she was also told that she was going to have...slight discomfort when she woke...

you know that means her rear is gonna be in PAIN

The stuff they give you to drink tastes like a very heavy Sprite soda pop, and you'll get sick of it pretty quickly. You may feel a bit sore after the colonoscopy, but it shouldn't be much of a problem. You will be sedated but probably not asleep. They generally do not tell you the results of the test right away unless they find something major like internal bleeding.
