a)

Can somebody pls. explain this quote from the captain:

"I don't want to survive, I want to live"

b)

What events, observations that you see in society today which you think will lead to the situation of humans as portrayed in the film, Wall E?

--- My problem is that I need to create an essay consisting of 750+ words, and I cannot even think of ways on how "to exhaust" my essay given this guide question only...

--- So, my question is, what are the points that I need to discuss or put in my essay to reach the 750 words.

--- It would also be better if you will give me your personal answers or ideas regarding the question.

  1. sorry i can only answer the first Q  the captain just doesn't want to stay on a ship any more and just "survive" on what there is there he wants go home and he wants to "live" like a real person its like saying that you don't want to stay in side for the rest of your life and never go out because your afraid of what might happen you need to go out and live the life you have while you have it

  2. a> the captain realizes tht life should not be limited, he wanted more from it. he realizes than life is not merely about survival, he wants to live differently than he used to be, with more meaning and happiness. he thinks there should be changes for him n the ppl livin out of space.

    b>selfishness, laziness,

they create more n more garbage, waste n pollution as time passes without dealin wif them. they dun care bout neither the environment nor the future even tho they know thts an existin problem in our society n its gettin worse. they know tht thers alot we can do now to help the prob yet we juz dun care. all we do is sittin ther, enjoyin wt we hav right now- the technology, entertainment, food...etc. those things totally blindfolded us (rmb how those ppl keep starin at their monitors n when wall e bumped into a woman accidentally, the moment she saw things other than the monitor, she goes 'woahhhhh' ? thts wht its all about) we hav to appreciate things around us other than technology, ther reli alot to appreciate, ppl around us, environment (the tree, rmb?? it is so rare n precious, which is y the captain think tht its so pretty)

we shouldnt take all things around us for granted, we need to slow down, put down the things which keep us 'busy' n start appreciating, carin n lovin things n ppl around us. even trees, it may seem to be very common now, but who knows if the things appeared in the movie become real?? who know if trees will rei become tht rare??

    sry for my poor english

  3. i can answer your first question (a).

"I don't want to survive, i want to live"  means that he doesnt want to just survive he wants to live a normal life. i mean, there's a difference inbetween living and surviving isnt there

  4. 1) He meant from his experience on the ship. They were all just surviving, doing what they were allowed to do and not having any interaction with anything. Being fed, moved, and every decision was made for them. Living meant for them to explore, to do things on their own and being to make the decision they wanted.

2)Society finding ways to make life easy, laziness. Finding the easy way out instead of the hard work needed to take care of something. Thinking a simple quick answer can solve a gigantic problem.

  5. a) He wants more out of life than just surviving.  He wants to enjoy his life.

    b) Huge companies refusing to stop producing CFCs in their products, deforestation, over-fishing, all that stuff, etc.

Hope this helps and good luck ;)
