  1. biochemistry is the discipline which examines the processes and reactions underlying the functions of a living system. The discipline uses all branches of chemistry and is closely associated with nutrition, physiology, genetics, immunology and evolutionary biology.

    One can get high paying jobs in academia or in th eprivate sector as as research scientist, professor, in Pharmaceuticals, or uise it as a stepping stone to an MD or DVM.

    beginning salary...BS private sector   45-60K  MS/Ph.D. private 75-90K
