Question:

Some questions regarding the 2009 NHL Winter Classic?

I know it is nearly set that it will be Blackhawks vs. Red Wings @ Wrigley. But I have a few questions that nobody probably knows the answer to:

1. When will tickets go on sale?

2. How expensive will most seats be?

3. Will it be a day game or a night game? I've always thought that it would be cool to play under the lights.

  1. 1. Bananas

    2. Bananas

    3. Day game to compete with NCAA Bowl Games like last year.

They haven't confirmed a location or even the teams playing so who knows about the first two questions.  I would expect they will go on sale at a similar time to normal tickets and would have a similar price to the tickets last year.

  2. I don't think it's going to be a "Winter Classic".......did they say anything about bringing back the old jerseys for this game...?

Like Kate said, the tickets will probably come out when all the others do.....it'll probably be a day game...

  3. The tickets will probably go on sale the same day all the other tickets go on sale.

How expensive I do not know, sorry.

It'll be a day game. Last year it was during the day. (BUF vs. PIT)

Here's the article stating the two teams if anyone wants to know.

  4. You're right, nobody can answer them yet. I will say that the game will almost definitely be in the afternoon. It would be too difficult to play at night, because the lights would reflect off of the ice and create problems for the players.

  5. I've also heard its going to be Flyers-Penguins at the Penn State football field.  Probably just a rumour, but will DEFINITELY happen in the coming years.  NHL would be dumb to not do it.

Hawks-Red Wings will be awesome, especially now that both teams are good.  But Wrigley Field?  It has the least amount of seats in the MLB!  At least pick a football stadium.

This will definitely help to surge Chicago's ailing fan base.

    1. Who knows?  Probably when the NHL officially announces it.

    2. Low hundreds

    3. Day game most likely
