This was absolutely insane. Some guy was beeping at me and yelling I almost swear he said "f*g" so i started driving even slower, and gave him the finger, so he kept following me and followig me, and i finally just got scared and drove off. Two days later I get a official legal notice in the mail with a ticket, complaint summons, with the signature of the complaint by some woman,...and I could swear the driver in the car was an old MAN! Something doesnt add up or make sense here.

All I did was slow down my driving, came to a complete stop a few times because I was panicking and not sure which way I wanted to turn, to lose the guy, and he kept following me, and it was really freaky.

Apparently either her or some woman...someone went to the police and must have reported me, but....WHY did I get a ticket with a court summons, TWO DAYS LATER?!!?

It's so SOON! I mean...seriously..this happened so quickly that I just...personally, I don't even know what'sg oing on.

All I know is , I now face a charge "reckless driving" and it carries 5 dmv points.

This is absolutte garbage, and I'm going to go in with a lawyer, talk to him about it ,and call the court on monday morning and basically ask them "WTF?"

I could have called in and complained that this guy was stalking me, harrassing me, and called me a f3g, but I didn't want the drama...

and now it bites me in the ****.

What should I do in this case, because I'm VERY confused, it's all so weird..

  1. Reckless driving is only a fine.Although if he felt as though his life was threatened it could be much worse than just a fine.Alot more. Why did you have to taunt him?

  2. Your question is useless - you never specify what it is that the complaint says.  Unless you say what you are legally accused of doing, there is no way to suggest a response.  "WTF" is not a response.

  3. Are you from NJ by any chance? Same thing happened to me like a year ago-it doesnt take much time for a ticket to be mailed out in the mail...I would suggest you check the ticket for the court date and appear on that day and plead not guility and I would consult an attorney-

  4. Well listen, you have about as much of a chance of clearing your name, as he does acccusing you. I would go to court, and explain youself to the court as you have here. BE COOL...you can tell the court, that this person was really harrassing you, and you just lost your cool.  Do not lose your cool in court though, as this will reflect on how you responded to the situation. Sounds like old satan is at it again hon. so besides the lawyer...just be humble, meek, and loving to our Father, and do what you think is best in HIS eyes. Good luck let us know how it comes out.

  5. So, if you have this guy's name now, why not file charges on him and then you can both agree to drop the charges against each other when it goes to court?

  6. You don't need a lawyer for a possible moving violation.  You can go to the courthouse prior to the date to find out what you are being accused of.  Just bring your summons and an ID. It usually takes a few days before you recieve a citation by mail so more then likely it is for something else.  When you do go to the courthouse lose the attitude and be professional it will help with the judge and clerks.

  7. Go to your  lawyer...honestly...two days seems fast.  I may be for something else all together.

  8. maybe the ticket is from a different incident and you didnt notice when you did it

  9. D Day has a good idea. Personally I'd just tell the judge that you were afraid of the person following you. And if the person filing the charge isn't that person, explain that you were scared and trying to get out of the situation.
