Despite what our false teachers would have us believe, we are his most magnificent creation and we, each and every one of us, are truly his children.  Our creator's great desire is that we should receive his love by choice and eventually become one with him in very essence.  By showing love to those around you, you effectively show your love to God and you attain a level of happiness that you could not achieve otherwise.
