Some recent shortcomings of Federer’s game
With Federer’s announcement of his recent bonding with Paul Annacone, a lot of sports experts have already started talking about this decision of the Swiss tennis master who has not performed well over the past few months. As far as the admirers of the big man are concerned, it is definitely good news as Annacone is the same man who previously served as a coach of one of the greatest American tennis ace, Pete Sampras. On the other hand, it also shows how modest and down to earth is the Swiss tennis master, who felt nothing awkward in appointing a coach in order to get his game back on track.
Here are some of the shortcomings of the Federer’s game at the moment that is recently affecting his play that the sports experts have highlighted:
1. Serving Quality:
The Swiss tennis ace, Roger Federer previously used to serve the best as compared to anyone else on all sorts of courts beyond any measure of speculations. Roger was famous for serving swiftly that proved tough for his opponents with the help of excellent timings. All of us in the past have experienced some high quality, simply matchless serves from the big man, Roger Federer. However, with time Federer’s serve has neither remained as quick as it used to be nor as accurate that marked it matchless. Talking about his recent matches, Roger’s serving quality has not turned out to be the best one and he probably stands somewhere among the top ten list of the best serve players of the recent times.
2. The backhand:
Federer’s back hand was without any question the top class, extra ordinary and exquisite in the past. However, the tragedy of the present day is that it does not stand out any more. The heavy hitters particularly are driving Federer back in the court towards the backhand side. And now a lot of other players are certainly making their mark with a far superior backhand which was once a Federer’s attribute only.
3. Court Dominance:
During the pinnacle of his career, the Swiss tennis ace, Roger Federer used to hit the ball from all around the court. Moreover, his superb apprehensions to predict where his competitor is going to smash the ball actually earned him many victories. However, sadly the big man has now lost his brilliance and is looking to regain it under the coaching of Paul Annacone.
4. Federer's strength:
It is pretty clear that the Swiss tennis ace, Roger Federer is no more playing with the same amount of strength and power; he used to fight in his previous matches. Talking about his overall physic, it has also grown thinner as compared to the past which also tells the aging story of the big man. Therefore, Roger at the moment is required to take care of his build in order to appear at the court with the same amount of strength and power.
These are the basic problems that few of the sports experts highlighted and debated upon about the present form of one of the greatest tennis players of all times, Roger Federer. It is high time that Federer should regain his lost from and make the appropriate adjustment in his game before it’s too late.
In the presence of Rafael Nadal who is day by day turning out to be the strongest rival of Roger Federer, the Swiss tennis ace is required to quickly regain his top spot by performing well in the upcoming United States Open tournament. If Federer fails to win the US Open 2010 at the Flushing Meadows, many are of the view that the big man may not be able to ever grab any other major title.
Is it really so? Do you think the legendary tennis icon from Switzerland will end up without any more major wins?
