How ridiculous is that. That's a moral obligation....why should the law force peopel to be faithful? people should be free to make their own choices when it comes to moral faithfulness.

  1. It might be immoral and unethical but it should not be illegal.  Our Bill of Rights declares that we have a right to happiness, and occasionally people unhappy in relationships might commit adultery trying to seek happiness.  Making adultery illegal would run contrary to our Bill of Rights.  It is a right to commit adultery!  It should not be one that is used often, but it is a right.

  2. I tend to agree with you. However, when the law upholds moral standards, they tend to be taken more seriously. In addition, the influence of morals has diminished over time, which often leaves their legal counterparts society's only hedge against morally corrupt behavior.

  3. This is why you never hear of anyone in the US, Canada, UK or whatever being arrested for adultery even if it is still on the books - sodomy as well. It's your bedroom, your business - and the business of the person with whom you're breaking the vow.

  4. Most of the judges and politicians creating and enforcing the law would be put in jail if that's the case.

It's a personal choice and should be handled within a family not through laws.

  5. Dont think that any act that has both parties in it consenting to the act being illegal unless one party can prove that fraud or other deception or led to them giving their consent.

Dream, I would love to have the first commandment as law just so that I can burn you at the stake for worshiping the wrong god. figure that I can get you for quite a few others too.

  6. Exactly. It should also be said that the adulterous party should not get a dime in the event that their actions cause the couple to divorce.

Morality shouldn't be policed. However immorality should not be honored either.

  7. i agree, it may be immoral but it shouldnt be illegal.

  8. All the Ten Commandments should be legalized.
