  1. Take the children outside in the school yard, ask them to look around for anything blue.  Back inside, tell them to look around and point out anything blue, then get them to draw what they say that was blue.  Children love art so that will reinforce what they have learned.

  2. You can refer to nature...like the sky or the ocean...and how it is calm and soothing.

  3. mixing black and white into blue paint to make other shades of blue

    oceans

    waterlife

blue clothes day (blue jeans day, etc.)

    bring something blue from home

    blue art

the children could make something at home and bring it in, or could make it at school to show everyone when they are all done

have an all blue day! blue books, blue papers, and then have blue show and tell

  4. ??school concepts??? themes are great but if you are going to use show and tell as the area of learning you need to then say "for show and tell you need to bring something blue" once the children have brought their "blue" items then you can talk about the various aspects of  the color....ex. bouncy blue ball, soft blue blanket, hard blue book....or other various aspects of the objects the children have chosen to share.

in response to one of the other responders ...."the teaching and reteaching of topics" is how children and adults learn. a topic must be reexamined several times before it is "learned."

  5. Do you mean you are having a show and tell where kids bring in blue items??

    Otherwise...on a blue theme...

Eat blue snacks, make homemade blue playdough, do shaving cream play with a few drops of blue washable paint in it, have them cut out blue items for a blue collage out of a magazines, make a book that on each page says the sky is ______, the ocean is __________, cookie monster is _________.  They have to keep writing the word blue and illustrate the pages.

  6. tell them to paint it yellow........or ..............green ......red............orANGE.....Pinkk...... come back to blue

  7. Isn't teaching colors to kindergarteners rather babyish?  Shouldn't colors have been learned earlier?

There's always the sky, that's blue.

I don't get your term "school concepts".

Maybe you could play "I Spy" something blue as a game for these kids, and take turns guessing what blue item it is in the classroom that the person who is "It" is thinking of.

  8. I would try using blue clay or pay dough so that they can have both a visual concept as well as a physical concept as they mold it together in their hands. What about buying some white carnations and some blue food coloring? if you cut the stems and put them in a vase of the colored water, the flowers should absorb the food coloring after a few hours.

  9. think of the blue ocean and the blue  sky. if you want to get more detailed you can say the blue lips and the blue fingers.
