i flopped my as-levels badly with D and E grades. now i can't carry on with AS maths and they're asking me to pick another AS and carry on with the other two A2's. but if i do that i can't do engineering, coz they need maths at A-level. so now im thinking of redoing my whole AS and start from the scratch to improve. but there is also another choice, i can go to engineering with a foundation degree if i carry on. what's your advice?? carry on or work hard by re-taking??

  1. work harder and retake math next year

    good luck for next year

  2. retake!! and do what you really want to do. i was in the same position and didnt retake and ended up on a course that i didnt really want to do!!! retake give yourself the chance to earn more money when youve passed the lot!!!

  3. You should carry on and finish your other ones and maybe do A-level maths as an evening course at college. Contact your local college and find out what courses they have available. Or you could do them all at college part-time for a year and work and delay uni for a year(kind of like a gap year but working instead of travelling etc). Some universities do one year access courses to degrees and the course is designed to be subject specific (so if you did access to engineering your subjects  would be maths and maybe 3 other subjects relevant to engineering). Contact whatever university is closest to you and explain what you have done here. Good luck!
