Some simple advice Please!?

Question

well yesterday when i was on the computer my boyfriend called me about 11:00 pm from his parents house, he has been at his parents house helping his dad with his mom who has been in and out of the hospital. His two sisters also live there and his brother but anyway he called me about 11:22 pm when i noticed he called it was just a minute later so i called him back and his phone was busy ( due to the fact his parents dont have call waiting)i was calling for at least an hour and the phone was busy till after an hour then when i finally got through his dad pick up and said he's probably down stairs sleep in the basement. Im kinda of confused on this one because he had to be on the phone right aftr he called me and if so who was he talking to at that time and for that long ? Can some offer me advice or their opinion on this one Thank You!!
