Question:

Some speices of lungfish breath only air.If you held them under water they would drown.?

I thought all lungfish could take oxygen from the air and water - they have gills for the water and they absorb the oxygen through their scales when there isn't any water left, or there is very little. As lungfish live in places like Africa where there is only water at certain times of the year, and it is very limited, the advantage of this is mainly that they can survive in any condition. They also burrow into the river bed until it fills up again, allowing them to receive shade from the sun so they don't dry out.

    Basically, no, they wouldn't drown because if a Lungfish can breathe only air, it has mutated and so should not survive unless it was beneficial.
