Some strange bleeding on my period...?

This is going to be really gross and I'm sorry! If you haven't had a period before you probably won't be able to handle this.

So I got my period today, a couple of days early. I had really intense cramps and heavy bleeding right away. I went to take my tampon out and noticed there was something stuck to the outside of it. It was absolutely disgusting. It was flesh-colored and it seriously looked like a hunk of skin. It had blood on it but it was white/translucent.

I'm used to having some blood clots on my period but this just looked like straight-up skin! I've had my period for 8 years (I'm 20) and have never had this happen before. Is this normal?

  1. Could be nothing, but if you are worried about it then go to see your doc.  You might even be able to call and tell them about it and they will know what's up.  No harm in checking it out!  Best of luck!
