Some tragedies that America has faced in the last fifteen years?

I need some examples of tragedies where people have died and it's really touched America. I already have Virginia Tech, 9/11, and the Columbine Massacre, but I need some more for a video I'm doing for school. I need big events too, not just little ones. Not to be disrespectful, but they have to be big events.

The persian gulf war, hurricane katrina, the oklahoma bombing of 1995, that rwanda thing with the genocide, nelson mandela

The Oklahoma City bombing (1995), the crash of TWA flight 800 in 1996, the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 (just in your 15-year limit), the siege at the Branch Davidian compound by the FBI in 1993.  

And, yeah, I agree about the Bush administration.
