  1. I wouldn't advise it because of the expense and amount of work involved.

    A 2 cycle Detroit Diesel 471 (four cylinders 71 cubic inches each) could be fitted in with considerable work - motor mounts, alterations to the fender wells, firewall, bell housing, transmission input shaft, etc. The General Motors 2 cycle Detroit Diesels have not been manufactured for over 20 years. 4 cycle Detroit Diesels are manufactured now by Daimler-Chrysler.

    It could also be possible to put in one International Powerstroke V8 diesels currently used by Ford in their diesel pickups.
