Somebody help me, i cant open programs on my computer, i cant even install programs.

Question

everytime i tried to open something, i always get this message "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action". i cant even open 'add and remove programs' in control panel, etc..most of my programs wont open when i tried to open them. Im desperate please help me.

You have provided insufficient or inaccurate information. Sounds like a serious problem but it really depends on what is that you are trying to open when it tells you that. You really can't open anything? That's unlikely! I am sure it doesn't tell you "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action" when you try to open add/remove!

I guess you may need to reload your operating system as it sounds like it has been corrupted

If you do reload/ restore your operating system you may loss all other data so you must back up everything you want to keep first.

my father restored his system as per the instructions only to find everything else had gone, Photos/ mp3's/ videos/ letters/ everbodys e-mail address's  :o((
