  1. First, its called shutter speed.

    Second, follow George's instructions.

    Third: DO NOT CLICK on what PAOLA P linked. I reported it as phishing.


  2. Set the mode dial to "S" for shutter priority.  Then rotate the rear control dial until 1/500 shows up in the viewfinder.

    You can also do the same in "P" (programed mode), but the camera will need sufficient lighting or a high enough ISO to capture a well-exposed image.
