  1. Isn't a job for the police, small claims court is the way. However...

The best way to solve it is by paying some proper hard nuts £20.00 quid or something, proper nasty people who will do anything for £20.00

Get them to go and threaten him. Best way, the legal system will just shaft you all the way, and that's if you're lucky.

  2. Sounds like a right ******* cheap skate! You should be able to take him to court. Go and see a solicitor. Altho it might cost you more to do so but its all about principle I suppose.

  3. Did they sign a contract?  If so, have a lawyer draft up a theft of service letter.  Could be all it takes.  Otherwise, take them to small claims court.

  4. Small Claims Court, as others have said.

But every business has bad debts, it's par for the course. Is £200 a lot in catering? I wouldn't have thought so. It might be better to put it down to experience, and make sure all future clients pay up front, or at least a deposit. But you'll always get people taking you for a ride if they think they can get away with it. It's a fact of life. Some people are like that, but most aren't.

  5. i own a debt collecting business we can collect it, the best thing is we take or charge from the guy who owes the money not you, email me at williamcortinez@yahoo.co.uk asap

  6. Cheeky beggar! Like the others have mentioned a solicitors letter or a small claims court.I can imagine how frustrated you must feel for your dad. Life has a way of turning around on people like that **** head and biting them on the ****!

  7. Small claims court for sure. Cheap and easy, think it's £40 for that amount to issue a write online. https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/ind...

Chances are the guy won't even defend it, and then the court will find for your dad. They then issue a writ to him and he gets a CCJ against his name!

Simple and quick - pay no attention to the fools on this thread, a Moneyclaim online does work, and if the consumers enjoyed the food, the guy won't have a leg to stand on. You won't even need to go to court.

Remember also that your dad is entitled to late payment interest, and also compensation for not being paid on time which is all included in the Moneyclaim online with instructions. Overall he should get £200 + £costs + £interest + £35 or so compensation. Good luck!

  8. giv him a random death threat, it works, just act anonymous and confuse him, he'll get scared and h**l pay, you have to do it very well though, gotta b smart

  9. a solicitors letter may do the trick otherwise its the small claims court for you.
