Somebody please tell me what on h**l was Rafa doin in the Villa game?

OK. I put this as an answer for another question here. But I still need an answer for this.

He was playin with a bizzarre 0-0-10 formation. What was it for? Was he preparing for the Man U visit? What was he trying to do? Was he preparing his team for a late surge at the end of the season? Was he preserving the team?

I make that 4-5-1, a commonly used tactic in the Premiership, and one that Liverpool used heavily towards the end of last season too.

But I do agree, Rafa's team selections are dodgy and my goldfish could do a better job at picking the team.
