  1. No that isn't true, it does however draw attention the same way carrying large amounts of cash does.

ten thousand dollars cash in your pocket? you must be a drug dealer.

two years of food in your basement? you must be plotting against the government

  2. If it is every Mormon in the world is going to jail.

No stockpiling food is in no way illegal.

i think your friend might be thinking of stockpiling ammo, and guns that can be illegal since it can be seen as a security threat.

~hope it helps and stock that food! ;)

  3. No, it is not.

It is only illegal to stockpile weapons or explosives(explosive material) without a permit or license to do so.

  4. No, but liberals don't like for people to do it and they'll do whatever they can to harm people who exercise this common sense measure.

There's a "survivalist" image associated with that activity, and people could be thought of as extremists or radicals, and this is what disturbs liberals, who themselves are mentally ill.

  5. It may me true if there is shortage in country for some food item and you are storeing this to sale for high profit.

Other wise there is no issue.

  6. During wars it is sometimes illegal to stockpile types of foods.

The thinking goes it should go to our fighting men first.

There is at present no restrictions on keeping foods, but you do have to realize not all foods can be kept for long periods.

  7. Where are you? Burma?

Here in the USA there are no such laws.

  8. No. This is a free country. If you can afford to buy it, you can buy whatever you want. We have enough to last a few weeks on our own, but have never made a conscious decision to stockpile... Probably not a bad idea though.

  9. It's not true.
