  1. Birds (including pigeons)

  2. I'm pretty sure chickens are.

  3. Gross speculation. No transient fossil evidence for this or

    any type of evolution. Bunk.

  4. It's thought that all birds (not just pigeons!) are descended from dinosaurs, specifically the theropods - most likely some member of the raptor family. Microraptor is a possible candidate, here's an image:

  5. at the very least they share a common ancestor..

but the general consensus at this point is that it's very likely that birds descended from therapod dinosaurs in th jurassic period.. archeaopteryx and other bird/dinos are the fossil evidence of this. as well as the increasingly bird-like features of small therapods and raptor-like dinos..

i also agree that james' proclimation of there being NO evidence of evolution is biggest line of bullcrap there can possibly be in the world..

whether or not you believe god created the universe or that it's some physical and astronomical wonder is a mute point..

evolution is real.. there is  wealth of well proven, testible evidence... that says it's a fact.. you'd have to be the most ignorant person in the world not to accept evolution as a mode of change and speciation.. genesis of the cosmos, on the other hand, is almost completely unrelated to evolution..

  6. Yup, along with all other birds.  They're descendants of the theropods.  Neat, huh?

James K.'s comment of no transitional fossils is so patently absurd that it's almost pointless to note it but just for the record: http://darwiniana.org/transitionals.htm

Whew!!! That took me all of three minutes to find and I haven't even gone to the original literature citations. Yeah, there's no such things as transitional fossils - right!  (That's sarcasm in case any ID'ers come calling.)

  7. Everyone evolved from algae. but technically we're from monkeys. pigeons I've heard were from small rodents.

  8. Scientists don't all agree, but since the 70's most of them think that birds are all descendants of dinosaurs. Check the wikipedia page on dinosaurs.

  9. All birds belong to a branch of organisms (Aves) which are descendants of dinosaurs; the only living relative of dinosaurs today.
