Would someone want to bid on my amp on ebay not so it meets the reserve price, but just so that it gets someone started, there are enough people watching, but no-one will make the first move, i have been trying to sell the amp for ever.

  1. Of course not! Placing a bid on an item on eBay constitutes a legally-binding - and law-enforceable - contract to buy that item. Why on Earth would I want with an amp - I don't have an electric guitar! I don't want to be the only bidder - because, then, I'd be forced to purchase it!

Just be patient! Maybe you have the price set too high.

  2. NO!

Leaving aside the fact that what you're asking people to do is illegal, your reserve is what's driving buyers away.  Lose the reserve, and you'll get more interested buyers.

  3. You must not do that or ask anyone to do it for you.

It's called 'shill bidding' and can get you into deep trouble if you do.

If any of your watchers are genuinely interested in your amp, they will bid when they're ready (most bids come in the closing stages on an auction).

It could well be that your watchers are just that - watchers who have no intention of bidding, possibly because they have a similar item and want to get a guide on the selling price, they might just be nosey or they could already suspect you of shill bidding and are keeping an eye on your auctions.

  4. be care ful, publiclley doing this could mean some one reporting you to e bay.

  5. Wots ur reserve on it?
