I am painting my room. and before we painted over it but we used a trashbag so it made it like almost spikey. throughout the years the paint has chipped and you can see the orignal wall which is flat.

so random spots are like spikey...spikey...flat....spikey..spikey...

can we paint over that and make it look okay or do we need to sand the whole thing down?

  1. Your Best Result Will Be To Sand It All Down, Yes It Will Take Longer But Otherwise It Will Look Unusual And Uneven.

  2. Just sand down the spikey parts, if there is no glue residue from the trash bags. If there is then you should sand the whole thing!

  3. ok i would sand the whole thing down it would make it so much easy-er to paint the walls

  4. sand the entire room. Do not use trashbags as texture. why the h**l would you use trashbags as texture in the first place? They make a texture paint which comes as a powdered white kind of chunky substance. Just add as little or as much water as you want according to the desired texture. Then apply to your sheetrock. From there, allow it to dry, paint over it like normal and you have finely textured walls with a professional look.
