Someone asked if im 'spoiled brat'?

Question

why did the mexican lady ask if i was a spoiled brat after i said im the youngest in my family? i never thought i looked spoiled im not blonde. i dont wear like a s**t.. i actually prefer being nerdy and nerds to airheads .. but i have many clothes and am conscious how I look. I wear some makeup, too. But, it still doesnt give enough reason for anyone to assume I am a spoiled brat..

I like the first answer. I will say as a mexican american, I am almost offended by the wording and context of how the question was presented. I am fairly sure however that you meant no offense, much like her. :)

Wow you are so closed minded!!! Its really horrible!!! I mean you just mentioned at least 3 stereotypes in your little question!!! I think you should open up more and realize that you are too narrow minded and leave those stereotypes alone!!!

Alfred Adler studied personalities of children depending on their birth order.  The first born, the middle child and the youngest have their dispositions.  She didn't mean to insult you.

I'm offended that you assume blondes are spoiled.  You, just like the lady that judged you, are placing stereotypes.

She probably was taking out anger on you combined with a preset notion she has for someone who is more fortunate than she is.

she did not mean to hurt you. actually everyone things that the youngest member is usually given more attention than others. so she said spoiled brat but actuallymeant to say something else.

This may be an example of class hatred.

I would wager you are upper-middle class. Your parents are both college educated and your combined household income is at least $80,000

I also wager that you attend a private school, your parents have already put aside money for your higher education, and if they haven't bought you a car, they will soon.

I would wager the "Mexican" lady is an immigrant from a much poorer region than yours, and had to start earning her own money by the time she was sixteen.

Enjoy your good fortune, but be aware that many folks'  lives really suck in comparison to yours

The baby of the family is often stereotyped as the spoiled brat...........it doesn't mean you are or that she even really thought you are.  I'm the oldest in my family and I was always referred to as the one my parents practiced parenthood on.... which always made me feel bad as a kid because I felt like they made all their mistakes on me!

Like your first answerer said....it's just about birth order in most situations.

she just said it cuz ur the youngest and usually the baby of the family get everything they want but she didnt say it because of what you were wearing and i dont think she ment to insult you she probably just said it as a joke
