Someone backing out of a parking spot, hit my bumper and dented/scratched it. Dont know who did it. Report it?

What would happen if i report it to my insurance company? Would i have to pay for all the damages myself? Would my rates go up?

it depends on where it was if it was in a grocery store parking lot there is nothing the police caan do because the lot is considered private property. really if there is of the person doing it or who it is there is no point

It's your bumper, it's made to be bumped.

Don't worry about it. I live in a city and my bumpers get dozens of scratches and dents per year.
