Someone elses cat at my door?

someone's cat has been in my yard, i pet the cat and try to feed it, but it would rather eat the grass and she only came in my yard 2 times, but the third time she wuz standing out on the porch at the door meowed a couple times and rubbed against it. I want to ben ice to the cat but i don't want her to think i'm her owner, what do i do?

  1. She's come to visit you. Outside cats do this quite often. If you know who the owner is you can speak to them and let them know she is visiting you. Then you can also ask if they mind if you let her in to visit. If you don't know who the owner is then it's possible she is lost or has been abandoned or didn't have a home to begin with. If you don't want her to think she lives with you then definitely don't let her in.


  2. If you don't want the cat to think that you are her owner don't feed her.  If you feed her she will keep coming back. You could look for her owner and if you cant find it... you will either need to tolerate and be friendly with the cat or call animal control to come and get it.

  3. try and find out who the owner is so you can return the cat to them.

  4. may be the cat likes you...or may be the cat was lost

  5. Keep it! :)
