I heard that the 4th dimension has length, width, height + space and time. Is this true. If so, how is this possible.

  1. The "Fifth Dimension" was a pop rock group back in the 1960's.  They had some nice songs.  But this probably occurred before your time-line existed (before you were born), so you can't remember it.  I existed at that time, so I do remember it.  I take up space now just as I did then, though I have grown as time passed.

    I wanted to tie in the fifth dimension in an amusing way.

  2. the 4 dimensions are

    X = length

    Y = width

    Z = height

    t = time

    yes, it is true.... the world is 4-dimensional..... because the 3-d objects are traveling in time.

    Take a point whose coordinates are (x1,y1,z1) at certain time t=t1. After some time, the point may be at location (x2,y2,z2) at time t=t2.

    So we cannot say that we have 3 dimensions only. If that would be the case, everything in this world would be static, not moving.

  3. We all are part of 4-dimensional space.  We take up the normal three dimensions, but we also exist along the time continuum.

    Time is the fourth dimension, but we can't see it.  There are certain things that take up different aspects of time or see it differently than we do (hence, relativistic effects and light) but the fourth dimension is in everything we experience.

    The fifth dimension, however, leaves a little bit more to figure out...
