What's the best/most expensive...I'm so confused by all this, but I want to know what a ridiculously high price is, and how many karats it is...

Don't ask why...please, lol.

  1. That question is very hard to answer for a few reasons.  1. A Karat of what?  diamond, ruby, amethyst, etc etc.  No matter what the stone is the higher the Karats (size of the stone) the more expensive it will be.  Say you were trying to pick out a Diamond - Karats aren't the only thing you have to look at.  There are also things like clarity, stone type, class, karat size, cut, jeweler, etc.

So, the best thing I could tell you to do is do a lot of comparative shopping.

    Good luck!

  2. 'Karat' in the US and Canada, (or Carat elsewhere), is used for the mass of Gemstones equal to 0.2g.

It is the unit of mass (how heavy) a gemstone is.

Therefore a 1 karat (carat) diamond has a mass of 0.2g.

The Cullinan I Diamond is part of the British Crown Jewels and has an estimated value of over £200 million, $400 million

When found, it was over 3,000 karats (over 600 g or 1.3lb).

For Gold, the karat (carat) is a measure of the Purity of gold with 24 carat being Pure Gold.

Another unwarranted thumbs down for a correct answer... What's wrong with you people...???

  3. I'm sorry, but your question does not even make sense.

"Karat" is a unit of measure for purity in metals, most often gold.

"Carat" is a unit of measure for the weight of gem stones.  One carat = 0.2grams = 0.007 ounces.

Based on your question, I think, you mean "Carat," not "Karat".

The price isn't based on weight alone.  It has to do with purity and color as well.

If you give me little more details on what you are wanting to know, perhaps I could help more.

  4. "Karat" is a unit of measure for purity in metals, most often gold.

  5. Carat is often confused with size even though it is a measure of weight. The cut of a diamond can make it appear larger or smaller than its actual weight.

there are so many factors to determine the cost of a diamond, just because it is a large carat doesn't necessarily mean it is the most expensive. the cut, clarity, and color and shape matter alot.
