Someone explain the "scam" behind global warming?

everyones screaming louder and louder about the hippie liberals "eco-n**i" agenda to control the whole planet and enslave humanity forever by having us use less oil and more alternatives.

what exactly is this agenda? control who, and for what?

There's a lot of people, and they've been around forever, who think that the car is the coolest thing in the cosmos. Everything that has to do with the car, as they know it, is great, and you can't say anything bad about the car.

It really upsets them to think the car is part of an enormous problem, and that part of solving this enormous problem involves rethinking the car.

They are lazy.

We will survive them. It is possible to rethink personal transportation.

Man made global warming is a scam perpetrated by liberals to help them push their agenda. They want higher taxes and scaring people is a good way to make them accept this and more government control over their lives. Al Gore has invested millions in so called green companies and then scares people into investing in these companies. Many people will get rich many more will suffer with high fuel prices, food shortages and lost jobs. Be very wary of UN support for global warming they are already putting forth efforts for a world tax which the US would be the biggest contributor as usual.

Just think about motivations.  The above have billions and billions of dollars at stake.  On the other side are some of the most intelligent ppl, both scientists and policy makers, on the planet.  These are ppl that value truth and knowledge over income - after all, they're all smart enough to have far more lucrative careers in other fields, but that's not where their values lie.  

So, who's word do you want to take - that of ppl that stand to loose billions if business-as-usual changes, or those that have won nobel prizes for science and stand to gain nothing monetarily if the world wakes up and tries to become sustainable?

Also, don't take my word - research the science all around you.

Note to 'tards: yeah, all us whacky environmentalists are scheming to get rich, cuz there's just SOOOOO much $$ to be made in the non-profit and gov't sectors, esp when compared to those poor corporate greed-heads... riiiiiiiiight...

If the objective were to apply a vast new carbon tax, globally, we can see a reasonable concern that someone other than those paying the tax might be tapping into it.

Now, believe it or not, some proposals for carbon tax do appear to be headed in that direction, so any argument in favor of that globally applied carbon tax must be a scam. Global warming fits that bill.

If the global carbon tax is collected only by individual states on fuel consumed within that state... even if at a coordinated global rate, it becomes clear that this is not as much a scam.

That is, it removes the opportunity to dip into my pocket by people far away.

But even then this could be just a way to greatly increase tax rates. Now that must be a scam.

If we have governments handed a massive new tax revenue, they may just use it to pay down state debt, spend it on education, health care, infrastructure. There is no clear control over how the states spend that extra cash flow.

We can not globally specify that this will be revenue neutral. Globally we have no way to know that a state may not urgently need to increase its taxes. So we have to leave the way states spend money to the democratic process locally. That looks like a big scam. We do not trust democracy when it comes to spending money.

there are plenty of scientific facts out there tht say global warming is happening yes it is true tht we have been melting from an ice age for a very long time but we are helping the world melt faster which is not good because its hotter and we are going to roast alive if you have not noticed the weather is crazy its like a thousand degrees one day and the next its practically snowing global warming causes this get a clue ppl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at scientific data.  You'll see that nowhere on earth has it gotten warmer because of g/w.  In fact...nowhere on earth is it warming for any reason.

The alarmist's cries of melting ice caps are lies.  They are not melting any more or less than they ever have.  The polar bears are not in distress.  There are more today than ever before.

The list goes on...Al Gore and his flock of sheep are finding there are certain people who can't have wool pulled over their eyes.  Phd's, degrees, political stature etc. have little to do with it.  Just look at the facts (not their facts, the real facts) and you too will be convinced.  

The agenda is to stop us from using fossil fuels, and to shift money from wealthy developed countries to poorer, less developed ones.  It's the way leftys think.  They're trying to do this by saying that burning fossil fuels causes something they call g/w.  And the carbon credit thing...wow...Gore and his henchmen have made billions off this already.

It's all a scam of course.  Fortunately, there are some loose ends and they're starting to unravel.  It will all go away soon enough.

It's blown out of praportion. First of they always say "It's the hottest recorded temperature on the Earth in a thousands years" No ****. If you go back a few 130,000 years ago however (which they don't tell you since that would crush their little theories and myths about co2 and gloabl warming) you will see that 130,000 years ago the average surface temperature of the Earth was at least a few degrees hotter than it is now even though that far ago CO2 levels were little little more than half what they are now. Explanation please? The Earth works in natural cooling and warming cycles. There is such a thing as global warming, however it is NOT man-made or if it is man has very little impact.
