Im a Sophmore now and I think Im finally ready and comfortable to wear makeup. But buying makeup is sooooo frustrating for me....I buy concealers and foundations that look perfect for my skin tone of the shelf and when I use it, it turn our to be a lot lighter than my actual skin tone.....So Im Indian but I have medium skin, not too fair. What eyeshadows do i use? What foundations or powders (Give me a range of numbers that may give me a good tone so I can browse easier) do I use? What type of blush. Ive been wearing eyeliner and began using mascara, and theyve been fine, so I just need these few things. i dont want to look completely done up, because this is for an everyday thing (school). I want it to be very natural. I know, Im getting soooo descriptive. lol

Please SOMEONE HELP ME.....

Thanks :)

  1. Without a picture it is hard to determine.  Your young so you probably have really beautiful skin color and tone, you don't need foundation.  Try a tinted moisturizer instead with an SPF, just to even out your skin tone a bit.  Try this

    In the medium to dark.

Also eye shadows, blush, you can wear any colors that you want, to go with what your wearing or what kind of look your going for.  But for everyday natural looks are the best, so I would suggest earth tones.  Here is a great natural look on a Indian woman

  2. You should try some samples of the Hollywood mineral makeup from LA Minerals. They have lotsa shades, and from your description, I'd say you are a Med or Med Dark Neutral, maybe Med beige?

Their samples are like $1 and they ship them free.

Minerals reflect light and tend to blend with your skin much better than liquids or creams. Plus this makeup looks very natural and wears great all day long. Plus it's good for your skin and won't cause breakouts!

    My daily school routine is:

    1. concealer (bisque shade is what I use)

    2. Hollywood foundation applied with a kabuki or mineral brush

    3. LIt Up shade of bronzer (sooo pretty! Get a sample!) I put this on my cheeks, little on my forehead, and eyelids.

    4. Oriental nude eyeshadow on lower lids and a little along brow. (real pretty peachy sheer shade coordinates great with the bronzer!)

    5. Veil (apply it with a blush or veil brush all over your face.

    6. Mascara and eyeliner ifyou use it.

DONE...takes me like 5 minutes. And I look great all day! Even if I sweat in this makeup it stays put.

  3. Don't buy drugstore makeup, not because it's bad for your skin because it really ISN'T bad but makeup from department stores or places like sephora last longer because the color is stronger so you don't use as much.

Things you should spend more money on or look for better quality are: Foundation, Primer, Concealer and Moisturizer. Why? Because those things can really affect your skin, either good or bad

Don't spend a lot of mascara because it's only supposed to be kept for 3 months and why spend 30$ on someting you're not going to keep for long.

For eyeshadow use gold, bronze, and brown to look more natural.

Since you're Indian I suggest you use bronzer instead of blush.

Brown eyeliner looks more natural, black eyeliner is better for things like a night out.

TO FIND YOUR RIGHT SHADES FOR MAKEUP:

Go to a makeup counter in a department store and ask if they can give you a makeover and if you like it and how the products feel you can ask what they used on you that you liked and you can purchase it

Brands I suggest Clinique(Not expensive and dematoligst reccomended; only for foundation, powders and moisturizer), Mac(For eyecolors; eyeshadow, eyeliner), Benefit(For concealera and bronzer: its expensive but you don't use concealer all over your face so it should last atleast 6 months), and Smashbox (For Primer, you should use primer because it makes your makeup last longer and gives it a smooth canvas so its easier to apply.)

    Hope I helped! :]
