Someone hacked my e-mail & sent out an e-mail to everyone on my contacts list.. what do I do ?

There was an e-mail sent out to all my contacts soliciting for some shoe deal... I didn't send it so that means someone had to get my personal information and hacked into my info! What do I do I had to contact ebay and yahoo to stop and fraud network for identity theft

  1. A worm will do this. It will get into your computer like a virus and propagate itself by sending itself to everyone in your address book, so that their computer becomes infected too. This is far more likely than you have been hacked

    Use AVG 8.0, it's free and incorporates an E-Mail scanner, Virus and Spy-ware blocker. You can download it from:-

    Install it, update it and run a scan. Then tell all your friends to do the same.
