Question:

Someone help!!!! Laptop Blu-Ray output via HDMI to HDTV?

Ok, two problems here. Here's the first one: When I connect my Laptop two my HDTV (Samsung 46" 1080p LCD 120hz) it will play the Blu-Ray in Full HD and the picture looks fantastic, but the sound only comes from the laptop speakers and not the TV.

My second problem is relatively minor to some, but annoying to me.

When the movie is playing there are small black bars on the left and right of the screen. When I use my PS3 to play Blu-Rays, It doesn't do that. Am I able to correct that? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you in advance!!!

  1. To get the sound working you will have to go into sound options on your computer and change the output from pc speak to hdmi or line out. That should help.

The black bars are a bit tougher, I believe that when you are running hdmi through your laptop you will have to go into your HDTV's settings and change the input type. There will be a few options so try to maximize the screen there.
