ok, when I filed my taxes I lived at a different address, and I filed electronically and received direct deposit, and my last two ss number is 93, so I should have received one a couple weeks ago. I need answers, I can't talk to a real person at the irs, so I don't know how to find out anything. I want to know if me moving has anything to do with it or WHAT is going on, I'm close to a meltdown, I need this money sooo bad! Someone PLEASE give me some answers!!!!

  1. A lot of people have thought they were getting direct deposit but for whatever reason aren't, so are assuming they'll get it earlier than they really are.  For example, if you had a tax prep place do your return and had your fees taken out of your refund, you aren’t eligible for direct deposit.

Check your bank statement from when the original refund came - if it says "US Treasury" you should be OK for direct deposit as long as that account is still open, and you didn’t split your refund into multiple accounts. Otherwise, you’ll get a paper check

Since the first round of direct deposits is done, it sounds likely that you'll be getting a paper check.  Paper checks for last digits 93 aren't scheduled to be mailed until July 11.

File a form 8822 to change your address with the IRS.  Then if the check is returned to them as undeliverable they'll know where to resend it to you.

  2. I heard that there was some form of glitch with the direct deposit filers and it has delayed some checks.  Also, it depends on when you filed.  If you filed on April 15, it is going to take longer.  Be patient.  Keep calling the IRS for answers.  Eventually real people pick up the phones.  It just takes a while.

  3. Look at your bank statement.  WHO sent you your federal refund?  Did the money come from "US TREASURY 220" or did it say SBBT, rapid refunds or someother name?

When you file electronically, invariably you have to at least pay a fee to transmit your tax return to the IRS.  If you paid that fee with a credit/debit card (like I did), the refund came directly from the IRS and says "US treasury."  Most people tell turbotax, etc, just take it from my refund and it will say SBBT--because the irs sent the first refund to them, they took out their fee and then sent it to you.  In which case, any stimulus check is by mail and "93" is sometime in July--at the earliest.

The applet at irs.gov (where's my refund, then where's my stimulus twice) is updated on Mondays and will give you about a week's advance notice of when to expect the check.

  4. you will not get your rebate until mid july because the last two of your ss is in the 90s
