Okay i'm sure getting a full scholarship to a university, especially vanderbilt, requires a lot of time and effort, so i need to start working toward it now. but i have no idea where to start! how do i get a full scholarship to vanderbilt? and i've tried finding it on the website, and i did find the sholarship section sort of but didn't really understand it.so please, someone tell me how i would go about getting a full scholarship? i want to go there so badly but there's no way i can afford it. by the way, i won't go into listing all my "credentials" because i know that's annoying, but i will tell you that i'm first in the class.so yeah, anyone who could help me with that, i would really appreciate it :).

  1. Below is what it says on the site. In english (haha) this means that you need to

    1. Stay super smart. (get straight A's, a 4.00 or HIGHER on a 4.00 scale all the time.).

    2. Do leadership activities. Student council, student president, anything and everything.

    3. Volunteer OUTSIDE of school. Make a recycling group, go to churchs and volunteer to help.

When you get into high school, go to your guidance counselor with all of this information. Let her know about Vanderbilt and what you want out of it. Let her know you want the full scholarship. She will be your best friend for this. She will lead you in the right directions and everything. Even if you do not qualify for a full scholarship from Vanderbilt, if you still have all what I mentioned above, you can pay off the tuition from other scholarships. (You can have as many schoilarships as you need/can earn.)

This is the technical stuff that they said:

"To be considered for the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship, students must submit Parts I and IIA of the Vanderbilt Scholarship Application postmarked by January 3, 2008. Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholars are selected on the basis of academic achievement, leadership and contribution outside the classroom, and intellectual promise. In evaluating candidates, the selection committee will review the entire application for freshman admission along with the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship application. Many of the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarships also require an on-campus interview with faculty"

  2. Call the school at (615) 322-7311 and they'll tell you what to do and they probably will send you the info also.
