Someone hit my car just a scratch? Insurance question?

He claimed it on his insurace and i called my insurance. What happens know, will his insurance company give me the money to fix my car or do they fix it for me.

Since both insurers have been notified, you need to decide which one you want to collect from.  If you go against yours, your deductible will apply.  They will subrogate against the other carrier for what they paid out plus your deductible.  

Since his insurance company has record of the loss, and if they accepted liability, contact them.  They will inspect your vehicle and pay you for the damage.  They do not care if you ever get your vehicle repaired.  Insurance companies do not repair vehicles, auto body shops repair vehicles.  Some insurance companies do have "preferred auto bodies" which guarantee their work.

The two insurance companies will discuss it, and make a decision as to fault, and the non fault person will be paid for the damages.

You can do it either way.  Have your own insurance do the repairs & they will get reimbursed from the other carrier...or leave your insurance out of it (may take longer) and have repairs done by his carrier.

usually they will give you a list of body shops in your area that they reguarlly do business with, and all you do is take it there and the insurance pays them directly.

if you want to take it someplace else, you usually have to get 3 estimates and stuff like that, then tell them where you want to go.

sometimes they will send an adjuster to your house or whatever and then they will mail you a check for what they think the damages are... if you end up being in this situation, get a few estimates before you cash the check (even before you get the check would be better) so you know if you're getting a fair price.

If his insurance pays, they will issue you a check.  You can use the check to have your car repaired or you can just spend it.  I your company pays, they will issue the check to YOU AND the repair shop.
