So twice i got a fone call from my mom's number and it wasn't my mom. I would answer, say hello?, the lady wuld say "oh..wrong number", and hang up. When i call back my mom's number she is at work telling me i'm acting stupid and stuff.

i know there's some website that you can do all that false fone caller ID stuff but is there anything i can do to track them down or stop them? Yes i can cuss them out or tell my mom to change her number or change mine but is there any other option?

and i'm the only one out of the ppl who have obtain my moms number who has experienced this

  1. what kind of phone to do u have?

i think this may be the possibilies

    1. software glitch on your phone, it could be the sytem software or the sim card, or what ever it is, but its something to do with the phone.

    2. network glitch, dont know what exactly happens but its possible.

its hard to hack someone else number since its actually network dependent, unless the one who did that is working from your network provider.

    hope this helps

  2. i never experienced this but the person probably stole your moms fone and was to stupid to give it back

  3. The fake ID places are usually telemarketers trying to sell you something. Or in this case, trying to sell your mom something. Buy a cheap plastic whistle (the kind sports referees use) and when you are SURE it is not your mom calling, blow it very hard into the phone.

If it happens when you are not alone, make sure the other person also sees the number (it should also show up as on the received calls list) so your mom understands it is genuine.

You can ask your phone provider to find out who the call really came from. They might not tell you, but they can find out, and possibly bar them. You can also report it to the police, but there is not much they can do as you are not being threatened or stalked, only feel spooked.

  4. A few weeks ago, there was something on the news that there is something you can do to make someone else's number appear on their caller ID. For example, someone may call you, and you may see your phone number on the caller ID.
