Someone is givong me a DVD-R and I was wondering if I can rip?

The movie off and stall it on my hard drive? If so what would be a good software to buy to do this?

  4. If you want a freeware, try handbrake. It's total free and converts DVD files, including protected DVD, to various video formats.Download here:

    But I'd prefer using professional shareware. Freeware always has function limit, spyware something......

    I use wondershare DVD ripper.It's not free, but I think it does worth the money well...stable and powerful ripping function, supports video editing and never get my pc crashed.
