Someone is offering me a 37" flat screen TV (HD) for $400. Is this a good deal?

In terms of the going rate for a 37", it's a good deal.  Do you know if it works, have you heard of the brand, etc?  If you know the person, go check it out; if you don't know them, offer half upfront and half once you've verified everything works with it.  I always say, "If you want it and can afford it, it's a good deal."  (Yes, I'm in sales...)

YES, go for it! but first... check the condition and the brand, ask for the warranty and is it just the tv? Does it come with dvd player, TV stand, all those cables, HD cable plug? Ask those before you decide, but generally it's a really good deal.
