It's in chapter 14, probably a few pages into it, but closer to the beginning of the chapter than the end  Heathcliff is talking to Ellen about how he feels about Catherine and Edgar Linton being together.  He's saying that he loves Catherine so much he would never harm Edgar, because that would cause her pain.
