Someone listens to their radio too loud near me at work. How do I scramble their signal?

I don't want to take down any nearby planes, just ruin her listening pleasure.

Here's some background info, before you judge me: 1. She knows it is too loud and bothers people, she's been told, yet she continues to listen to "My Humps"... not only inappropriate, but overplayed. 2. She reads magazines during the day. If it's not "my humps," it's really loud page turning.. you'd be surprised. 3. I'm not going for polite, I'm going for comical. Something I can write in my memoir. 4. I'm not evil, I'm funny. Although slight, there is a difference.

depending on how close you are to this what seems like a very annoying person, you can "plant" a magnetic device near the radio, which will scramble the signal. I also know that a cell phone works the best, but I don't know how that would work...

Get your own radio and play all sugar beats CD's really loud....or worse, country music..imagine listening to that whining all day at work!..

Well get an FM transmitter with the same frequency, and read the instructions and the radio won't work. If its a cd she keeps playing wait untill she uses the restroom or goes on break and scratch the bottom of the cd. or accidentally knock over the radio and cause it to break

It's illegal to jam radio signals like that.

However, to be funny I would suggest getting a radio transmitter like you use with an iPod in the car.  It transmits on a certain frequency, and many times you can choose the frequency it transmits on.

Set a playlist on your ipod/computer and set her radio to be tuned to that station.  Have it set to play her type of music, so she has it turned up and is jamming.  Then at some point in the playlist have something funny.  Possibly an EXTREMELY loud message telling people that she plays her radio too loud, or "copulation" sounds, or if you're more subtle, a DJ skit with people answering calls and callers talking about her and what they think of her.

I think that would be an awesome prank.

haha, u should just unplug it when shes not there. when she turns it on, she'll be confused. or change it to AM setting, if she listens to FM most of the time. AM stations are usually scrambly. u could also change out the CD with a different one, maybe something she would hate.

Talk to your boss about it - - tell your boss that you like the person and don't want her to get in any trouble (even though that's not true) but that it's a distraction.   Also mention the content "My Humps" (I don't listen to pop music so I'm not sure if that's a reference to b*****s or s*x, but I'm sure it's not a reference to camels) and say something like "if a client, or a district manager called, I'm not sure how I'd explain that one."

That will keep her off the promotion list for a few years at least.

I know that sounds nasty but that's how the game is played.   Everywhere.   By everyone.

hahahah thats the funniest thing I've heard...::MY HUMPS:: ::MY HUMPS:: lol too funny.  Scrambling her signal?  Not sure on that, its likely to be an IPOD, which you cannot scramble.  The best thing to do is to kill her with kindness, she enjoys it more when it bothers you....ask her if you can get a copy of some her tracks...and invest in an IPOD yourself!  As far as the magazines, buy her a couple and drop them off at her desk -- tell her you saw them at the store and thought of her.  If you want to prank her, superglue a few of the pages together (so she cant turn each individual one)...laugh when she gives you a strange look and respond with..."the office wouldnt be the same without you kido!" =) smile and hold your head high in glorious victory!
