  1. You trip will be roughly 485 miles (give or take) so you need to figure out how many miles you get to the gallon of gas and then divide 485 by that figure. Example, if your van gets 10 miles to the gallon, you will divide 485 miles by 10 miles to the gallon = 48.5 gallons of gas @ $4.00 per gallon = $194.00 estimate for the trip. Hope this helps.

    This is for one way.

  2. get on the web page and write in (gas buddy), it will tell you what the gas is in all 50 states.

  3. Determine the highway mileage of your van. It is probably in the vicinity of 16-18 mpg.

Determine the mileage from Phoenix to Albuquerque.

Divide the average mileage into the miles of the trip.

That is how many gallons of gas it will take. Multiply that by the price of gasoline in your area. That will be the cost in fuelfor one way. Double that for the round trip.

Example: 345 miles divided by 18 mpg = 19.17 gallons.

19.17 gallons multiplied by $4.25 (price of fuel) =$81.47

Use Yahoo maps to determine the distance. Determine your exact mileage by filling up your van and noting the mileage. Drive until you need gas again and note the mileage again. Divide the number of gallons you put in by the miles driven and you have a good reference point for your mileage.

  4. You need to know the round trip miles

(Phoenix to Albuquieque X2)  You also need to know the miles per gallon your Chevy gets.   Take total miles divided by the miles per gallon.  That will give you the amount of gas you need.  Multiply that figure by the price per gallon of gas in your area.  That should give you the amount you will spend in gas.  Good luck and hope you get to go.

  5. how much gas does it hold

  6. 470 miles * 2 directions / your MPG * $-per-gallons.

Assuming 16 MPG in your van:

    940miles / 16MPG  = 59 Gallons * $4.60/gal = $271

You can adjust the formula for your real MPG and cost for gas, but $250 - $300 is a good estimate.

  7. Phx to Abq 475 miles @ 18 mpg =26.38 gallons avg ppg 4.00 = $105.55
