  1. To answer your Questions:

    1. Tank? is that made from glass? Arboreal chameleon should never be kept in a glass cage. You need to move him asap to an all screen cage.  87 - 95 F Basking point and 70 - 80 F everywhere else.  At night, unless your room gets below 60 F, no heat bulb of any kind should be present. Yemen chameleon benefit from having a 10 degrees drop at night.

    2. Bent casque is a very bad sign. I think you are correct in assuming that your chameleon have MBD.

Only way to cure is go to the vet for calcium injection and correct your husbandry. Just from looking at your questions, I have a gut feeling that there are lots of corrections need to be done if you wish your chameleon to survive this ordeal.

    3. Chameleon never stop growing; however, the rate of the growth lessen significantly when he reached a year old.

    4. Depending on how old is your chameleon. From your photo, he looked like a juvenile chameleon. 5 to 6 gutloaded medium cricket (1/2" - 3/4" size) daily and supplements.

    5. Yes. Brown coloring signifies stress. Most likely due to your improper husbandry.

    6. For Veiled chameleon, when they grew up, they will develop yellow band coloring. Male veiled especially will have a striking yellow, blue, and turquoise colorings.

I have seen orange and red on certain veiled (orange florida veiled).

Contrary to the post above me, Chameleon DOES NOT change its color and blend based on its environment.

The color changes in chameleon is based on its emotions, mood, and its health status.

Please bear with me for a minute and take this constructive criticism in a positive way.

these questions that you asked are very essential and you should have known the answers to all be4 you got your chameleon.

I am a bit worried that if you do not fix your husbandry soon, your chameleon won't have a chance of surviving for more than a month or two.

    Please go to this site:

I have written all the cares (basic and intermediate) of chameleons (specifically for veiled and panther).

Make sure you read all the blog archives (especially the january one).

Good luck. I hope your little guy will  be able to make it.

BTW, are you sure your chameleon is a he?

  2. chameleons change colors usually to the place they are at they blend in to....i had a chameleon but im not quite sure about the head part but if he eats the 10 crickets very well continue those if not drop o like 7 or 8

  3. all change colors do give them at least 11 small crickets and it takes a while for it to grow bigger and for any other questions ask a person that works in a nearby pet store
