Someone please name 3 Fads you believe will go out of style. I am writing an essay and i need some ideas?

I have an essay and I have write about 3 fads that i believe will go out of style. i just need some ideas so i can put all into essay form.

Soon:

1) 'ecological' shopping bags

2) The Barak Obama thing

3) Anything 'scene'. (it is already just a haircut)

Already gone

1) 'embracing' Islam (remember that phrase?)

2) role models (phrase now only used by small children, as in 'he/she's supposed to be a role model' when talking about a well known criminal)

3) Second hand smoke

It’s hard to think of a consumer product that won’t eventually go away or be replaced by something else. The nature of western society is to come up with something new or different so we have to buy a new product or new version of the old product.  Here’s a few that soon will or have even started to go away:

DVDs are definitely going to disappear. We’ve seen it happen with reel to reel, Beta, VHS…

CDs are already on the decline. Eventually you’ll only be able to get digital music.  (See LPs, cassette tapes)

McMansions…you know those giant houses that go up randomly to replace a normally sized home in the suburbs? Normal people don’t need that much space and as energy costs, and thus the cost of consumer goods rise, smaller homes will come back into vogue.

Pointed-toe shoes. This one makes me sad, but the trend cannot last forever.

The return of the insanely high wasted “Did you walk through a 70s time warp?” pants. Those just don’t look good on anyone who’s not a size negative 2 model.

SUVs as daily drivers. We’re seeing the beginning of the end, but it will take a while to phase these out of the American fleet & to get the automakers to drastically scale back production.

Skinny Jeans

Geometric prints on clothes (that will be gone this fall)

Bright primary colors on clothes and accessories (that will be gone this fall)

Gladiator shoes

Using false eyelashes

Long hair

Blue eyeshadow

Remember that a long time ago, leg warmers, feathered hair, rollerskates, layered socks, and rolled jeans were in style.

All the things that are in style today will eventually be scorned tomorrow as "dorky" and "stupid looking."

1. plimpsoles. in fashion now but im not sure they will be very long term. i love mine at the moment though!

2. summer dresses with black tights. dont like that now to be honest.

3. denim jackets. just yuck in my mind but there are many people that own some.
