  1. its made up of epithelial tissues, thats why it bends and can't really break.

its not a bone...  you lost.

  2. bone is made up of osteons.

  3. Cartilage is tissue, some of which grows (in a developing body) into bone. Some, like what's in your nose, remains cartilage. Might be the reason for your confusion. Young children with broken 'bones' heal very rapidly compared to adults for this very reason.

  4. O.k.! Cartilage is a bone.

Now that I have told you it is a bone, I'm sorry... but I lied. If cartilige was a bone, your ears would break easily.

  11. Cartilage and bone are specialized types of connective tissue and are made up of cells, fibers, and ground substance. Their functions are somewhat similar, but cartilage is more flexible and has less tensile strength than bone.  Cartilage is formed when mesenchymal cells aggregate and secrete intercellular material.  Bone, like cartilage, consists of cells, fibers, and ground substance.   Bone is distinguished from cartilage by the presence of inorganic calcium salts in its ground substance, which makes the ground substance rigid.  Its sequestered calcium serves as a reserve for the body.  So no, bone and cartilage are not the same.
