in my other question i described my situation, some moron calling me 6-7 times everyday, everynight, sometimes even after midnight.

I want to call the police and track them down. but how do I start? do I have to hand over my cellphone to the police station... or do they lend me some sort of device to hook up to my cellphone?

  1. You will need a caller ID. With a caller ID, you can identify who they are and then block that person's number.

  2. in this high tech day and age,it would indeed be a moron who thinks he can get away with prank phone calls. call your service provider.they can trace even blocked numbers. they in turn call the police.

  3. Trust me just call them. That's what they are for, not to beat little innocent kids up for tagging their walls......anyway they probably would need your cell phone until the guy calls again which would probably be a few hours from the likes of it. I'd do it.

  4. Try writing down what times they call and calling your phone company to see who called at those times.  Then when you figure out their number, call the police and tell them they've been harassing you.

  5. tell your phone company thy can find who is doing it

  6. Simply call the non-emergency line, google it or look in your telephone book. Explain the situation and they can trace the call. They do not need your cell phone. If it is a business number usually they wont trace it because sometimes calls are made automatically so they assume it to be a glitch (happened to me a 800 number called every 15 minutes!). I have a suggestion, store their number and assign it a silent ringtone, so it will not interrupt your daily life. :)

  7. thats annoying and is considered harrrasment, I would definately call both your phone company and the police and see what they can do for you

  8. i would call the police, they would probably need to see your cellphone to find out who called so they could do something about it. On second thought, however, if the person's phone number showed up on your phone; you could Google their number, and if it was a home-phone they were using, google would show you where they lived, and if it was kids that were calling you, you could talk to their parents about it--and you wouldn't have to involve the police.

but im no genius. hope this helps!

  9. exactly what belairjr said.

  10. Call the police on the non-emergency number. They will be able to direct you to the proper detective or investigations unit to handle this. Your phone company isn't likely to investigate if it's a blocked number or do much without the police anyway - there are lots of privacy laws they don't want to violate.

Also, you can change your phone number. Quick and easy.

  11. Can't you block their number.

  12. Guessing you can't see the Number; *69 them. If that doesn't work call the Phone Company with the time and dates to figure out who calls you and have them block the number. If they are calling you from more then one number you need the Police's help.Keep  a log for the Police, time, date, etc.
