  1. well call a near barn, or maybe if your friend rides you can just talk to her and schedual some lessons. then you are going to need to go to a tack shop and buy some paddock boots, half or full chaps, and a helmet. now you need to decide if you want to ride english or western also. english jumps and has a smaller saddle, western barrel races and has western pleasure and such. so the type of chaps and tack you buy will depend on the type or riding you choose. then when you go for your lesson you are going to deff want to bring plenty of water and some treats for your horse. now someone there will help  you get in the swing of things and will help you tack up your horse and show you what to after you are finished, and eventually you will pick up on what to do and you will be able to do it on your own :) i also roccomend that you ride. it is a sport that you can get excellent exercise and also have a companion! it will teach you ballance and patience and responsibility, you have to care for your equine friend and it is very rewarding!

  4. First of all its a very expensive hobby if you dont feel like you like horses or have any interest in them.

All you need to do is look in the directory and find out the local stables near you or probably a better way would be to ask around if anyone knows any god stables.

most stables offer a one hour lesson a week for a to see if you are interested as it is hard work but so rewarding especially if you go on to own your own horse.

If you then decide that you like riding then try and befriend the owner and ask if they have any part time jobs going, for example you come down and help after school and weekends and in return you can have free lessons.

I used to thoroughly enjoy my sundays at my local stable. I would go down to the stable and then i would spend 6 hours there learning about, tacking up, turning out, grooming, the health and welfare fo the horses, how to care for them etc. Which is some of the things that you will pick up.

I have always thought of riding as a tremendous skill and something that you could pass down to future generations. A bonding with someone special.

    hope i helped .x.

( This helped me aswell as some books thati bought but this is also good, there is many options to click on and find out about. It helped me,
