Yes the fire marshall will still do an investigation to determine the cause of loss.  Arson is a crime

If you only have liability your insurance will not cover it.

Nothing. Liability only covers YOUR LIABILITY. Your liability is what you are responsible for your actions to other cars, property, etc.

Either way it would not cover your car.

Nothing will happen.  You will be out a car.  Liability is only for someone else property, not your own.
