Last year me and my family bought a business from its old owner, now the old owner opened a restaurant under the same name, using the same recipe and all only in a different town. I'm very unhappy about it because he's got really bad quality ingredients and very bad service, Our restaurant has been open since 1991, it has very god reputation in our city and near by towns and he had been ruining it for me. is there any way i can get him to change it? can he be sued for what he did ?

  1. Did you buy the stock of the company or just the assets. If assets, was name included in the sale.

Better have an attorney look this over. You may or may not have a right to the name

  2. Wow! that's crazy, i hate to inform you, but i really don't think you can do anything about it, except BEAT HIM AT HIS OWN GAME. Your business will do way better than his if you can think of a better than his name. If you have the better name, you win. Figure out your own super name. If you need a really good name, go to www.namajig.com.
