It gives people an energy buzz that makes them feel alert and alive. Ecstasy makes people feel in tune with their surroundings – sounds and colours are more intense. Users often feel great love for the people they're with and the strangers around them. On its own, it’s not a drug that makes people violent. Lots of people feel chatty on E. (These chats don't always make sense to people who aren't on an E).

Pure Ecstasy is a white crystalline powder known to chemists as MDMA.

Ecstasy sold on the street is usually in tablet form although it's getting more common to see it sold as powder. Es come in all sorts of colours and some of them have pictures or logos stamped into them.

They’re usually swallowed although some people do smoke or snort them. People have been known to take another E when they haven't initially felt the expected ‘high’. The danger then is that both Es kick in and you’ve a double dose to deal with.

Physical side effects can develop that include: dilated pupils, a tingling feeling, tightening of the jaw muscles, raised body temperature and the heart beats faster. Short-term effects of use can include anxiety, panic attacks, confused episodes and paranoid or psychotic states. Some long-term users report getting colds, flu and sore throats more often. This may be attributed to staying awake for 24 hours, which puts your immune system under pressure.

People who have heart conditions, blood pressure problems, epilepsy or asthma can have a very dangerous reaction to the drug.

There is no way of telling what is in the E until you've taken it, some people even die from it.

  Its usually a tablet that you take and it makes lights look crazy & you chew really hard so most people chew gum when they take it so they don't mess up their mouths.  When you take it you feel like you're in love with everyone lol.

There's a 1 in 100,000 chance of dying from it I think... It shouldn't hurt unless you don't chew on something.

Ecstasy is the slang term for Methylene-Dioxy-MethAmphetamine (MDMA). It is a stimulant, but unlike other stimulants, it releases serotonin in the brain, not dopamine, making it non-addictive. It is an amphetamine and is used recreationally for it's extreme euphoric properties. It has also been proven to effectively cure post-traumatic-stress disorder, but it will never be approved by the FDA for such use because of negative public view.

It is very easy to get hurt on MDMA if you don't know what you're doing. If you use harm reduction, it's nearly impossible to get hurt. That includes drinking plenty of water to avoid dehydration (but not too much), chewing gum to protect your teeth, taking vitamins to protect your kidneys, and not taking anti-depressants 2 weeks before or after taking MDMA.

When you ask about any drug there are going to be several posts saying you will die if you take it, there can be some truth to it it is hard to die off of the drug itself most people that die while on ecstasy were not being safe. There are probably 30 something deaths in the US a year from ecstasy but they are including people who choose to drive while on it which is a no no and anything else that goes wrong. You have a very very short attention span while on it so driveing is a bad thing. also people who don't stay hydrated will overheat and die and people who drink too much can die too. you can't drink on it , that is also dangerous and you should not take it while on other medications especially MAOI's this can be fatal. The other bad thing is you don't always get ecstasy when you buy it, which can be dangerous it can be cut with alot of different things, but you can buy a test kit and test what you are taking. With all that said it is not an addicting drug and if used safely by taking vitamins and a few other things such as 5-htp you can protect yourself from the side effects. It is a wonderfull high, you feel so euphoric and happy, nothing is wrong in the world when you are on it. and touch is amazing, you feel so close to the people you are around. they used to use the drug for couples counseling which makes alot of sense if you ever do it with your lover. You do clench your teeth but chewing gum or sucking on a pacifier will help with this also taking magnesium is suppose to help too. I am not much of a drug user, I don't even smoke pot, my husband wanted to try it with me and I read as much as I could about it before I took it which I recommend for anyone thinking about takeing any drug. and I loved it so just be safe and do your homework. Its not as bad as everyone says it is.

It is an "illegal" drugs. Possible side effect is death. Jail or Cemetary do you feel that these risks are worth taking? I hope not.

Alot of people die the first time they take it. PLease do not do this drug. Be smart and find something healthy to do with your life. Is it really worth risking your life to try it? You could end up dead.
