Someone tell me why this acceptable ?

a 47 year old "cougar" with 21-25 yr old males. but not 47 yr old male with 21-25 yr old females. please enlighten me on the "appropriate" age for each s*x.

Older men are called "dirty old men" when they try to get with a much younger women.  Women are called "cougars" because they hunt the younger man.  I hate seeing a younger women with an older man, it's grotesque and disgusting.  But I for some reason don't have a problem with a cougar and a younger guy.

Usually when I think of a younger woman with an older man, golddigger. But if it's a younger man with an older woman, he's a "stud" who's pulling it with the cougars.

what acceptable to you isnt the same acceptability for someone else, not everyone can be put on the same moral line, because not everyone feels the same way about waht is right and wrong.  so i think the most important thing is to not flaunt what you think is right in front of someone who thinks that same thing is wrong.

I am not sure where you are from but neither has been accepted by the general public, which is why these women have been given a nickname.

Just because it is a trend, does not mean it is accepted.

I think politically incorrect really hit on the problem, the double standard which still glorifies men's sexuality but not women's.

Anyway, I have no problem with either to be honest. I agree that many people view women as victims and men as studs, and that's why it's more of a joke to see an older woman with a young guy than it is to see an old man with a young woman.  One is considered laughable, the other predatory.  No one should care either way.

Apparently the male has alot to offer otherwise the "cougars" wouldn't be hanging around. If the cougar is getting em young she has real brains and talent or the males just aren't too bright

Sorry, but there must be something special in the 'Cougar' acronym I missed (which I do not know what it stands for - still ~ and I did Google it ~ I got Hybrid manufacturer of broadband:  review of the Mercury Cougar:  an armoured fighting vehicle designed to be resistant to antitank weaponry and COUGAR HUNTING SEASON WITH THE AID OF DOGS ).

Unlikely anything of use there then, it seems.

An 'appropriate age for s*x', if there is one, is after the birthday wherein the individual achieves what is termed ''The Age of Majority ~ although 'right after it' is NOT mandatory, but surprisingly is, perfectly legal.

'An appropriate age for s*x' (legally) would be 'when the person feels it is the right time for the person' ~ and NOT for you or for me to trot out our approval ....or disapproval, however much you might want to give it.

What people of 'legal age do together' ~ without force / coercion ~ or in other words ~ freely entered into, is entirely up to them.

My girlfriend is 25 years younger than me.  She is of legal age (easily), she chose me and chose to come to me from ~ a long way away.

Whether this is 'acceptable to you', really does not matter to me.  If you want it to matter, then you have to open up your life for scrutiny by those you seem to judging ....just to keep the balance going.

If by "cougar" you're referring to "women", I don't think it matters about twenty year olds, but teenagers is a big issue.

Just like these female teachers who get away with having s*x with teenage male students, but if a male teacher hits on female students it's wrong. It makes no sense- they're both wrong. Older females shouldn't get special treatment when it comes to having s*x with minors.

Not to mention 40 year old women who try to sleep with a 16 year old boy just strike me as desperate wh*res who can't get a guy their own age.

It's not acceptable for EITHER s*x because of cultural biases.  

I personally believe that the phrase "to each his own" holds true here.  Why should we have a right question whether or not a mature man wants to be with a younger woman or vice versa?  

The fact is, there is no appropriate "age" for two people to be in order to have s*x.  The only thing required for two people to have s*x is

1) Consent

2) No close blood relation

3) Being "of age" ie over 18

But cultural ideals influence peoples' biases.
